Privacy Policy

Effective 26 June 2026 · Last updated 26 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how French Property Advisory (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you contact us, enquire about our services, or respond to our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR).

1. Who we are and how to contact us

French Property Advisory provides practical guidance for English-speaking buyers, owners and sellers of property in France. For the purposes of data protection law, French Property Advisory is the “controller” responsible for your personal information.

If you have any questions about this policy or about how we use your information, you can reach us at privacy@frenchpropertyadvisory.com.

2. The information we collect

Information you give us

We collect the information you choose to provide when you make an enquiry, including:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • your phone number, if you choose to provide it;
  • the contents of your message and any details you share about your situation or your interest in French property.

You may provide this information in two main ways: by completing a lead form on Facebook or Instagram in response to one of our adverts, or by using the contact form on this website.

Information collected automatically

Our website is a simple, static site hosted by Cloudflare. When you visit, our hosting provider may process limited technical data — such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your request — in server logs for security and to operate the site reliably. We do not use advertising or analytics tracking on this website.

3. How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and answer your questions;
  • arrange and conduct an introductory call or follow-up correspondence;
  • provide the guidance and services you ask us about;
  • keep records of our communications with you;
  • operate and secure our website; and
  • comply with our legal obligations.

4. Our lawful bases for using your information

Under UK and EU GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Consent — when you submit a lead form or contact form, you consent to us using your details to contact you about your enquiry. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see “Your rights” below).
  • Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries, run our business, and keep appropriate records, where doing so does not override your rights and freedoms.
  • Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract — where you ask us about engaging our services.

5. Advertising on Facebook and Instagram

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, which are operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (“Meta”). If you respond to one of our adverts by completing an “instant” lead form, you submit your details through Meta’s platform and Meta makes that information available to us so that we can follow up with you.

Meta processes your information in accordance with its own privacy policy and acts as a separate, independent controller for the data it holds on its platforms. We recommend reviewing Meta’s Privacy Policy to understand how Meta handles your information. This website does not use the Meta Pixel or any similar advertising tracking technology.

6. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for others’ marketing. We share information only with the service providers that help us operate, and only as needed:

  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — where you submit a lead form through their platforms;
  • Web3Forms — the service that delivers messages submitted through our website contact form to our inbox;
  • Cloudflare — our website hosting provider;
  • our email provider — used to receive and respond to your correspondence.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

7. International data transfers

Some of the providers above are based outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as adequacy decisions, or standard contractual clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where relevant) — to ensure your information remains protected.

8. How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy — typically for the duration of our correspondence and a reasonable period afterwards to maintain records and respond to any follow-up. When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.

9. Your rights

Under UK and EU GDPR, you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • have your information erased;
  • restrict or object to how we use your information;
  • request that we transfer your information to you or another provider (data portability); and
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, please email us at privacy@frenchpropertyadvisory.com. We will respond within one month. Exercising your rights is free of charge, and withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it.

10. Marketing and opting out

We contact you primarily to respond to and follow up on your enquiry. If we ever send you any other updates, every message will include a way to opt out, and you can ask us to stop at any time by emailing privacy@frenchpropertyadvisory.com.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. Only essential cookies that may be required for the site and our hosting provider to function and stay secure are used. Please note that Facebook and Instagram set their own cookies on their own platforms when you interact with our adverts or lead forms; these are governed by Meta’s privacy policy.

12. Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information at every step.

13. Children’s privacy

Our services and advertising are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

15. How to complain

If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first at privacy@frenchpropertyadvisory.com so we can try to put things right.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), ico.org.uk. If you are in the European Union, you can complain to your local supervisory authority; in France this is the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), cnil.fr.
